Third Generation Successor of “Gu Jingzhou”

“Yuan Lanying” was born in the renowned pottery village of “Yixing”, known as the "Zisha Village" (formerly “Shangyuan” Village). Immersed in the culture of “Zisha” pottery from a young age, she apprenticed under “Gu Xiujuan”, a successor of the great “Zisha” master “Gu Jingzhou”. She also benefited greatly from the guidance of several renowned craftsmen. Over the past 30 years, she has delved deeply into her craft, creating works that honor tradition with meticulous craftsmanship and high artistic value.

In “Yixing”, generations take pride in their craft, preserving and passing down their skills through the ages. The fully handmade “Zisha” technique requires artisans to dedicate their lives to maintaining and continuing the traditional pottery methods. Only through such dedication can the "soul" of their hometown be preserved, enriching and deepening the art of “Zisha” pottery with each passing generation.

Each exquisite “Zisha” teapot represents countless days and nights of hard work, a testament to the artisan's sweat and dedication. Engaging daily with clay, water, and fire, these artisans remain undeterred by the cold of winter or the heat of summer.

In today's fast-paced world, people are beginning to seek "minimalism," simplifying material possessions while enriching their spiritual lives. Yuan Lanying's works also embrace simplicity and clarity, creating pieces with a fresh, minimalist artistic style that captivate and delight.
